In 1996, a group of women from San José, Petén and the BioItzá Association formed
The Group of Women for the Rescue of Traditional Uses of Medical Plants and Craftsmanship.
This group of women manages a garden that cultivates the medical plants, located in the outskirts of San José, and a processing center, located in the BioItzá complex where they manufacture the natural medicine, such as: cough syrups; varieties of shampoos, lotions, soaps and pills for Diabetes.
